Ever stumble across a recipe that is so delicious and ridiculously simple that it seems too good to be true? Well if not, let me introduce you to cabbage steaks. Barely enough ingredients and directions to speak of to even count as a recipe and loaded to the brim with flavor and nutrition. Paleo-friendly and only 25 calories a slice to boot.
These cabbage steaks are tasty enough to win over even the most adamant cabbage hater. After one bite there will be no way for them to hate, hate, hate.
Cabbage sliced into 1" wedges
Grape seed or olive oil
Preheat oven to 375° F (400°F for my high elevation friend)
Wash and slice cabbage.
Lightly coat each cabbage slice any means you see fit - the important thing is lightly coat.
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
The orange sauce in the photo above is Ginger-Lime Carrot Soup and it made for a lovely pairing, however these cabbage steaks can stand up on their own with their delicious flavor and wonderful texture.
