Earlier this year when I released my Healthy Pumpkin Latte Recipe for the 5th year in a row, I decided to make my own spice blend. For years I had been mixing each cup to perfection or trying to make do with premade pumpkin pie spice blends from the store… plus adding ginger and cardamom.
The strangest part of this recipe is that I created it by complete accident when I was looking for headache relief. Having not had a headache in years, I had nothing on hand to take for the throbbing head pain. I knew it was a stress headache that meant it was time to do some shoulder rolls, have 12 ounces of room temperature water and then get a small amount of caffeine in me.
This is often the part of a headache story where people reach for a can of diabetes and cancer, I mean soda. That’s asking for a rebound headache short term and major health problems long term.
6 Oz. Strongly, Steeped (Brewed) Black Tea
½ Tsp. Fall Spice Blend (or try Pumpkin Pie Spice Blend + Cardamom + Ginger)
½ Tsp. REAL Maple Syrup
4 Oz. Coconut Milk or Milk of Choice
For a creamy texture, add 1/2 tsp. flaxseed oil or grapeseed oil. Or you can add 1/4 of an avocado. It helps to let the ice cubes soften a bit in the blender, before you blend.
